A senior official of Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) said that due to increase in allocation of domestically produced natural gas and reduction in input gas cost, MGL is reducing the retail price of CNG at the pumps from Wednesday. However, the price of piped natural gas will remain unchanged at Rs 54 per unit for each household with piped cooking gas connection. MGL supplies piped gas to more than 19 lakh households in Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai, Mira-Bhayander and its surrounding areas.

The current retail price of petrol in Mumbai is Rs 106.31 per liter while that of diesel at the pumps is Rs 94.27 per litre.
