Ministry of AYUSH (ministry of ayush) Prime Minister’s Yoga Awards-2022 (PM Yoga Awards 2022) has been asked for nomination papers. It is to be known that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had started the Prime Minister’s Yoga Awards on the second International Day of Yoga (IDY 2016). This year also the Prime Minister’s Yoga Award for 2022 will be announced on the 8th edition of IDY (21 June 2022). The awards will be given in two categories, in which there are two categories national and international. Applicants and nominees for these awards must have made exceptional contribution to Yoga and must have a keen understanding of Yoga. Two committees constituted for selection
Two committees are constituted by the Ministry of AYUSH to select all the applications and nominations received. It consists of Screening Committee and Evaluation Committee which will decide the selection and evaluation. The message of yoga has never been more relevant in promoting both the physical and mental well-being of humanity during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Communities around the world have adopted yoga to stay healthy and rejuvenate themselves. International recognition and acceptance of Yoga has been enabled to a great extent since the United Nations declared June 21 as the International Day of Yoga by resolution 69/131.
International Yoga Day focuses on 100 days, cities and organizations
This year the International Yoga Day 2022 campaign focuses on the theme of 100 days, 100 cities and 100 organizations across the world by 21st June 2022. At the same time, this year, yoga will be performed at 75 historical heritage heritage or prestigious cultural places to celebrate the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence. This includes yoga demonstrations, workshops and seminars not only in India but around the world.
Ministry will publicize the benefits of using WHO my Yoga App, Namaste App, Y-Break Application and launch programs on MyGov platform with various people centric activities, including photo contest, quiz, discussion, pledge, voting survey, jingle etc. are included.
