Navjot Singh, who resigned from the post of party state president amid the ongoing squabble in Punjab Congress, has reached the AICC office in Delhi today i.e. on Thursday. Here he will discuss organizational matters related to Punjab Congress. Navjot Singh Sidhu will meet organization general secretary KC Venugopal and state in-charge Harish Rawat here and discuss organizational issues related to the state unit.

This will be the first meeting between Sidhu and senior party leaders after September 28. It is believed that today a decision can also be taken by the Congress regarding Sidhu.

Navjot Singh Sidhu on Wednesday said he would always be grateful to the Congress high command for the “honour” given to him. At the same time, he emphasized that he “can never compromise”. Sidhu said that those who understand his love for Punjab will never level any allegations against him. Sidhu shared his video on Twitter, in which he discussed many issues related to Punjab.

Meeting being held two days before CWC meeting

Rawat had already said that Sidhu was reaching the national capital to discuss organizational matters of the state Congress with party leaders. This meeting of senior leaders with Navjot Singh Sidhu is going to be held two days before the CWC meeting. In the meeting of CWC, the agenda of assembly elections to be held in five states including Punjab will be discussed.

When what happened?

Sidhu had resigned from the post of Congress’s Punjab unit president on September 28. In a letter to Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Sidhu had said that he would continue to serve the party. He had written in the letter, “The decline in the personality of any person starts with compromise, I cannot compromise on the future of Punjab and the agenda of welfare of Punjab.” is not accepted. Sources say that some points will be agreed after today’s meeting and then Sidhu can announce to withdraw his resignation.
