On the meeting of the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis said that 11 topics were discussed in this meeting. Out of these, 8-9 subjects are such, on which the central government has nothing to do, it is a state subject.
CM took state matters to PM, said Fadnavis
Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday. This meeting, which started at 11 am at the Prime Minister’s residence, lasted for two and a half hours. After this meeting, the state BJP immediately called a meeting and after that Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis addressed the journalists regarding the issues raised in the meeting.
Devendra Fadnavis said that the Maharashtra government started a dialogue with the central government. It will definitely be beneficial. I have been saying this in the past that the state government should continue to communicate with the central government. In this meeting, 11 topics were discussed. Out of these, 8-9 subjects are such, on which the central government has nothing to do, it is a state subject. But no problem, there is no harm in the discussion. Saying this, Devendra Fadnavis accused the state government that there is no prohibition on discussing the matter related to the state with the central government, but it is of no use.
‘State government went unprepared on the issue of reservation’
Devendra Fadnavis alleged that the OBC reservation has been canceled due to the state government, for discussing the issue of reservation with the central government. He said that the additional OBC reservation in local self-government institutions has been canceled only in Maharashtra. This continues in other states. The state government did not play its role properly, so this reservation was canceled by the court. It can be given keeping in the limit of 50 percent. The help of the Center is not needed on this.
The Leader of Opposition said on the issue of Maratha reservation that it has been clearly stated in the report of retired Chief Justice Dilip Bhosle that first a State Backward Classes Commission will have to be formed on it. Then taking its report will have to go to the center. But after fulfilling all these conditions, the state government went to the center with half preparation.
‘Centre has given the amount of GST to the state government’
Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar were also accompanying the Chief Minister’s delegation. He demanded from PM Narendra Modi that the central government should give the outstanding amount of 24 thousand 306 crores of GST of Maharashtra to the state soon. On this, Ajit Pawar said after the meeting that PM Modi said that he is finding a solution to this issue forever. But on this issue, Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis said that the Center has given the amount of GST till last year to the state. After deducting the loan amount, the remaining GST amount has been given.
‘No argument to raise the issue of list of 12 MLAs’
The Governor has not signed the list of MLAs to be appointed by the state government for the last six-seven months. Due to this, the appointment of these 12 nominated MLAs (MLCs) is not being done. This issue was also raised by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in front of the Prime Minister. Speaking on this, Devendra Fadnavis said that what is the point of mentioning the pending list of 12 MLAs with the Governor? Is this also a central issue? It is a matter of prerogative of the Governor. I don’t see any justification for taking up this issue with the Prime Minister. Such issues have been kept to give a political message.
Fadnavis on the issue of Aarey Metro Carshed
Regarding the Aarey Metro carshed, the Supreme Court has said that it is not a forest land. Here the work of metro carshed was done up to 25 percent during our government. Now if the metro carshed will be moved to Kanjurmarg, then personally it is not an issue of hurting our ego. The issue is that this will increase the budget by thousands of crores and the project will be delayed by 4-5 years.
