This system has been implemented in the entire country with the farmers getting the price of their produce directly in the bank account in Punjab. Now after selling their crop on MSP, farmers will get their money directly in their account.
Farmers from 18 to 40 years can avail this scheme.
The central government has started several schemes to double the farmers’ income by 2022 and work is being done on several schemes. Under this, the government has launched One Nation One MSP One DBT Scheme for the farmers of Punjab. Under this, the prices of the crop are being transferred to the account of the farmers in very short days. Now farmers are not having to go round with businessmen for their money. Like Punjab, farmers of other states are also taking advantage of this scheme.
Under this scheme, the prices of the produce sold on MSP are being given directly to the bank account of the farmers of Punjab. Small and marginal farmers will be benefited by this decision, especially those farmers who are stuck in the junk of moneylenders and jobbers. The benefit of going directly to the bank account of the yield will also be available to those farmers who do farming on land with rent. There are more number of such farmers in Punjab or other states. Under this scheme, due to transparency in the system, the farmers will not be misled by anyone and will be able to get the fair price of the produce.
Scheme implemented in many states
This system has been implemented in the entire country with the farmers getting the price of their produce directly in the bank account in Punjab. Now after selling their crop on MSP, farmers will get their money directly in their account. In some states this system has also been implemented and farmers are getting money in the account. Till now there was no such system and farmers were on the support of mandis where middlemen used to get more from the farmers. Now this system is almost finished. After independence, it is considered to be a big change, brought in the interests of farmers.
Transfer so much money to the account
Initially, the Punjab government had shown hesitation in implementing the DBT system, but now the government is ready to look into it due to its interest in farmers. FCI had recently purchased wheat, whose money has been transferred online. Under the One Nation One MSP One DBT scheme, the central government has transferred Rs 13.71 crore to the account of 1.6 lakh farmers of Punjab.
The central government was supposed to implement the scheme in 2015-16 itself, but was hanged due to heavy opposition from the adhatis and the Punjab government. Now it has been implemented by going to 2021. The business of the jobbers in Punjab is wide and there have been allegations of collusion with the government. Before implementing this scheme, the Punjab government had requested the Center to separate itself, but the demand was not accepted.
Bumper purchase in haryana
Recently, procurement of crops started in Punjab and Haryana under this new scheme. In Punjab, procurement started from April 10 while in Haryana, One Nation One MSP One DBT. Wheat was procured in Haryana at the rate at which 11 states and 2 union territories are doing it. In these states, the price of wheat is being given at Rs. 1975 per quintal. So far, 81.64 lakh tonnes of wheat have been procured. FCI has set a target of purchasing 427.36 lakh tonnes of wheat across the country. There is a plan to buy 135 lakh tonnes of wheat from Madhya Pradesh and 130 lakh tonnes from Punjab.
How many farmers benefit
Union Minister Piyush Goyal has sent a message about this scheme on the Kuo app. In the message, he has written that the farmers of Punjab are happiest today in the last 15 years because they are getting money from One Nation One MSP One DBT. Under the Modi government, farmers are getting MSP money through DBT. The government is committed to fulfill the aspirations of farmers. According to Piyush Goyal, at least 1,64,455 farmers in Punjab are able to take advantage of DBT.
