Calcutta High Court (Calcutta High CourtJustice Prakash Srivastava as the new Chief Justice ofJustice Prakash Srivastva) Took oath on Monday. West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar (Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar) administered the oath of office to him. The swearing-in ceremony was conducted in room number one of the Calcutta High Court. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was also present at the function. Prakash Srivastava was earlier a judge of the Madhya Pradesh High Court.
Chief Justice of Bombay High Court Dipankar Dutt and Chief Justice of Chennai High Court Sanjeev Banerjee were also on the list of invitees. Significantly, the Central Government on Sunday approved the appointment and transfer of Chief Justices in 13 High Courts of the country. The post of Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court was vacant for a long time. Rajesh Bindal was as the acting Chief Justice for so many days. Rajesh Bindal has been appointed as the Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court.
Said Chief Justice – I am happy to be the judge of the oldest High Court
After taking oath, Chief Justice Prakash Srivastava said, “I am happy to be the head of the oldest High Court. This court is known for its famous bars. There are famous lawyers here. It is the duty of the plaintiff to conduct a speedy trial. I will stick to this goal. I will be such a Chief Justice and hopefully I will be able to work without any hindrance.” Prakash Srivastava was earlier a judge of the Madhya Pradesh High Court. Similarly, the post of Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court was vacant for a long time. Rajesh Bindal was as the acting Chief Justice for so many days.
Notification was issued for the appointment of many judges
Ranjit More has been appointed as the Chief Justice of Meghalaya High Court. Similarly, Satish Chandra Sharma has been appointed as the Chief Justice of Telangana High Court. He was the Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court for so long. RV Malimath has been appointed as the Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court. He was earlier as the Acting Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court. Similarly, Rituraj Agasti has been appointed as Chief Justice of Karnataka Arvind Kumar, Gujarat and Prashant Kumar Mishra as Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh High Court.
