Voters in the third phase also voted fiercely for the West Bengal Assembly Election 2021 elections and 77.68% polling has been recorded. On the other hand, incidents of allegations and counter-allegations and violent clashes between TMC and BJP are continuing. TMC MP Mahua Moitra has alleged that people of Raidighi village of South-24 Parganas in Bengal to come and vote for PM Narendra Modi’s rally and get one thousand rupees coupons (Rupee 1000 coupons distributed by BJP in West Bengal) were divided. However, the BJP has rejected these allegations outright.
Mahua Moitra tweeted and shared a photo of a coupon on which PM Modi’s picture also remains. Mahua has alleged that the coupons worth 1000 rupees were distributed to the people of Raidighi village. Instead, they were asked to vote for the BJP and attend the PM’s rally. Mahua also mentions the Election Commission in this tweet and has demanded action.

Uproar over cash coupons
On the other hand, BJP has said that these are the coupons of donation which were distributed during a meeting in Joynagar of South 24 Parganas. The TMC and the Left have lied to the BJP’s claims and alleged that the money was given to people to attend PM Modi’s rally. These coupons were distributed on 1 April and people were also appealed to vote for BJP. According to Bengali media reports, many people of the village have also given statements in favor of TMC allegations and described these coupons as a gift from the BJP.
BJP’s Raidighi seat candidate Shantanu Bapauli said that TMC is airing the issue by making baseless allegations. These are only coupons distributed for donation which were distributed before the PM’s rally. These were for the businessmen and those getting salary, who want to give financial help to the BJP. The party will investigate how they have reached the people of the village. He further said that such coupons were also given to the owners of the vehicles hired for the rally, they may have reached other people of the village from there.
