West Bengal Election update: After getting 4 EVM machines from TMC leader’s house in Howrah, tension has arisen in the area. People have demonstrated, after which the police force has been deployed.

In West Bengal, the third phase of voting (West Bengal Assembly Election Phase-3 Voting) is going on today and voting is taking place in 31 assembly seats. Meanwhile, a local TMC (4 EVM found in TMC leader’s home in Howrah) in Howrah’s Uluberia created an uproar after EVM was recovered from the house of the leader. According to information received, 4 EVMs and VVPAT machines have also been recovered from TMC leader’s house. On the other hand, in Arambagh area of Hooghly, the case of the murder of the mother of a BJP worker has come to light. The BJP worker alleges that TMC people attacked his house late on Monday night in which his mother has died.
The BJP worker alleged that TMC workers from West Medinipur allegedly attacked his family on Monday night, in which his mother died. The police have registered a case and the dead body has been sent for postmortem. On the other hand, TMC has dismissed these allegations outright.

Uproar after getting EVM
BJP candidate Chiran Berra from Uluberia North seat has alleged that EVMs have been recovered from the house of a local TMC leader. After getting the EVM, people of the area have protested in large numbers from out of the houses. The name of this TMC leader is being told as Gautam Ghosh. 4 EVMs and 4 VVPAT machines were reportedly recovered from Gautam’s house. It is alleged that through these machines, attempts are being made to rig the election. At present, a large number of police force and central force personnel have been deployed in the area. The police has taken Gautam Ghosh into custody.

Election Commission officials have said that in the initial investigation, these reserves seem to be one of the EVM machines. However, the matter is being investigated and hence the report will be made public soon.
Today, voting is being held on 31 assembly seats in West Bengal. Around 78 lakh 52 thousand 425 voters are going to exercise their franchise on these seats today. Out of total 31 seats, 16 seats are in South 24 Parganas, 7 seats in Howrah and 8 seats in Hooghly district. In the last assembly election, Mamta Banerjee’s party won these seats outright.
