In the third phase of the West Bengal Assembly Election, a total of 205 candidates are in the fray for 31 seats in three districts of Howrah, Hooghly and South 24 Parganas. Tight security arrangements will be made in this phase. The Election Commission has announced the deployment of 832 Company Central Force personnel in view of security.
According to the statement of the Election Commission, about 78 lakh 52 thousand voters will decide the fate of 205 candidates. Notification for this phase was issued on 12 March last. In the third phase, Howrah has seven seats, Hooghly has eight seats and South 24 Parganas district has 16 seats.
618 Company Central Force will be deployed
According to sources, 130 companies will be deployed in Baruipur, 113 companies in Diamond Harbor, 64 companies in Sunderbans, 167 companies in Hooghly Rural, 133 companies in Howrah Rural, 11 Company Central Forces in Howrah Central. Explain that in the last legislative election, 30 of these 31 seats were occupied by the Trinamool Congress. The Congress won only in the general seat, although the contest is tough this time. BJP has emerged as a big rival for Trinamool.

Many officers have been transferred before voting
The Election Commission has removed police officers from Alipurduar, Hooghly, North and South 24 Parganas districts in a major reshuffle before the third phase of voting. IPS Amit Kumar Singh has been replaced in place of SP Amitabh Maiti of Alipurduar. IPS Abhishek Modi has been appointed in place of Tathanagata Basu, Deputy Commissioner, Chandannagar Police Commissionerate, Hooghly. Tathagata Basu was summoned by the CBI in the cow smuggling case some time back. Shyamal Kumar Mandal has been brought in place of Deputy Police Super Mithun De of Diamond Harbor Police District of South 24 Parganas. Mandal is posted as Deputy Superintendent in West Medinipur (DEB). IC Abhijeet Hait of Phalta police station in the same district has been replaced and replaced by Inspector Atanu Ghoshal of the Enforcement Branch.
