Weather Update: The Meteorological Department reports that the Western Himalayan regions will experience relief from heavy snowfall starting today, January 31st. The last 24 hours have seen moderate rainfall in regions such as Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and East Rajasthan, as well as in other areas such as Punjab, Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Light rain has also been observed in states including Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu.
The minimum temperatures in most of northwest India’s states remain around ten degrees Celsius, while western Rajasthan recorded a minimum of eight degrees Celsius. On February 1st, moderate to heavy rains are expected to occur in Tamil Nadu, causing potential difficulties for the local population. Light to moderate rainfall is also forecasted for western and central parts of Uttar Pradesh and isolated areas of north and northeast Madhya Pradesh on January 31st, according to reports.

Delhi
The national capital has been predicted to remain partly overcast today. However, no rain is predicted today, providing some relief to the Delhiities. For today, the maximum temperature will be 19 degrees while the minimum will be 9 degrees.
Mumbai
IMD predicts the city and its suburbs will have a pleasant day. The sky will remain mostly clear and the temperature is expected to climb up few notches. For today, the maximum temperature will be 32 degrees and minimum will be 24 degrees.
Chennai
Chennai will remain mostly cloudy today while there are chances of showers happening in the evening in several parts of the city. However, the temperature is predicted to remain same with maximum being 29 degrees and minimum being 26 degrees.

Kolkata
Kolkata will remain mostly cloudy and while haze is also likely to continue in the day. For today, the maximum temperature will be 29 degrees and minimum will be 21 degrees.

The weather is anticipated to get better from the new month i.e. February. Not just in plains but in hills as well, the relief is likely to come. This change in weather will mark relief from a season which was colder than many previous ones.
