Weather update: The changing weather and strong cold winds gave great respite to the people in north India. As announced by the Indian Meteorological Department, the heatwave conditions in India ended on Wednesday as light showers subsided the scorching heat. In the coming days, the Imd predicted cloudy weather with the temperature expected to fall further.
An orange alert has been issued for Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana, and Chandigarh for the next few days. “There is a possibility of heavy rains in the hilly areas for the next 2-3 days. There are chances of hail storms in East India as well,” IMD said in its prediction.
Delhi weather update
Delhi is expected to witness light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms, lighting, and gutsy winds. In comparison to the past couple of days, a higher intensity of rain is expected. The maximum temperature in the city will remain at 36 degrees Celsius, while the minimum will fall down to 24 degrees Celsius.
Mumbai weather update
Mumbai on Friday is expected to be greeted with a sunny day with scattered clouds. The humidity level in the city has been recorded at 69 %. The maximum and minimum temperatures in the city will be at 33 degrees Celsius and 29 degrees Celsius.
Kolkata weather update
The maximum and minimum temperatures on Thursday are likely to be around 34 degrees Celsius and 26 degrees Celsius. There is expected to be a downpour in the city today as well.
Chennai weather update
It is expected to be a hot sunny day for Chennai today. While the maximum temperature was recorded at 36 degrees Celsius, the minimum will be at 29 degrees Celsius.
