The Meteorological Department has predicted partly cloudy sky with strong winds in Delhi on Thursday. There is no chance of rain in Uttar Pradesh also. While many states including Gujarat and Bihar may receive rain today.
For the last few days the capital Delhi (Weather UpdateIn many states, the weather pattern has changed and people have got relief from the scorching heat. Due to heavy rain and cloudy sky, the maximum temperature of many states (Maximum Temperature) has also declined. The Meteorological Department has forecast that today it may rain in many places on Thursday or it will be cloudy. There is no rain expected in the capital Delhi today, but apart from Kerala, there is a possibility of light to heavy rains in many states including Bihar and Jharkhand.
After mild weather for the past few days, the maximum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 37.2 degrees Celsius yesterday, a notch below normal on Wednesday. Delhi’s base station Safdarjung Observatory had recorded a maximum temperature of 34.5 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, four notches below normal, on Monday, 32.8 degrees Celsius on Monday and 30.7 degrees Celsius on Sunday, the highest since June 17, 2013. June has the lowest temperature ever. The minimum temperature at Safdarjung Observatory yesterday was recorded at 24.3 degrees Celsius, four notches below normal.
Strong wind will blow in Delhi today
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has predicted partly cloudy sky with strong winds for the day in Delhi on Thursday. There is a possibility of strong wind tomorrow as well. Also, the minimum temperature in the capital is expected to be around 25 degree Celsius and the maximum temperature is 38 degree Celsius. The India Meteorological Department had said a day earlier on Tuesday that the maximum temperature in Safdarjung would increase in the next few days, though it would remain below 40 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, another round of pre-monsoon activity is likely to start from Sunday. The Meteorological Department says that the Southwest Monsoon will reach Delhi around its normal date, June 27, and will continue to rain till the end of June. However, the pre-monsoon rains in the last few days have reduced the rain deficit in Delhi.
Chance of rain in many states including Gujarat, Bihar
The Meteorological Department says that it may rain in many districts of Gujarat today. There is a possibility of rain with thunderstorm in Ahmedabad. While there is no chance of rain in most parts of Uttar Pradesh today. In many places including the capital Lucknow, the temperature is likely to remain close to 40 degree Celsius.
Apart from this, today at different places in East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. There is a possibility of heavy rain. Apart from this, there may be rain in some parts of Madhya Maharashtra and Karnataka.
Along with this, there is a possibility of thunder and lightning at isolated places in Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe and Lakshadweep.
Meanwhile, amidst flash floods and landslides triggered by heavy rains in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, a senior government official yesterday reviewed the situation on Wednesday and issued directions to restore the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway at the earliest. Jammu Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar directed the Deputy Commissioners to provide adequate assistance to the migrant population in the meeting.
