Violence erupted on Wednesday night following the death of a member of the youth wing of the IUML in Kannur district of Kerala (Kerala). During the violence, at least 10 offices of CPM (M) were vandalized, due to which police had to charge lathi.
Mansoor, a 22-year-old member of the Youth League, was killed in a clash between CPI (M)) and IUML activists on Tuesday after the election and witnessed widespread violence during his funeral.
District Magistrate TV Subhash has called an all-party meeting on this issue on Thursday. Inspector General of Kannur Range Venugopal K. Nair said that the situation is under control. After the death of IUML worker Mansoor on Tuesday, his 27-year-old brother was also seriously injured, who was later admitted to the hospital. His family alleges that it was a well-planned conspiracy of violence. The police has taken a member of the left party into custody in this case.
In another case, according to ANI, BJP’s Yuva Morcha attacked the house of CPIM supporter Omana in Ambalathara area of Kasargod. Her husband and son have been injured in this attack. A complaint has also been lodged with the police.
The President of Yuva Morcha in Kasargod district was also attacked on Tuesday, after which he has been admitted to the private hospital in Mangalore. In such a situation, BJP now alleges that the CPM is behind this attack.
