The decisive phase of the anti-Kovid 19 vaccination starts on Saturday. In this, vaccination will also be started for people above 18 years of age across the country. But the Mumbai Municipal Commissioner has given an important direction in this regard. Under this directive, only the people above the age of 45 will be vaccinated at 63 centers of the state government and the municipal corporation in Mumbai. Vaccination of age from 18 to 45 can be done only in the vaccine centers of private hospitals. Also, before getting the vaccine, it will be necessary to register your name.
The metropolitan commissioner called an online meeting to prepare for this phase starting May 1. Additional Commissioners Ashwini Bhide, Sanjeev Jaiswal, P. Velarasu, Suresh Kakani, Associate Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners and all concerned officers of the Health Department attended the meeting. Considering the prevalence of this campaign of vaccination, discussions were held regarding increasing the number of vaccine stocks, procurement, transportation, distribution, and vaccine centers.
Decision taken to reduce congestion
There are about 90 lakh citizens between 18 and 45 years of age in Mumbai. For all this it is necessary to arrange two doses i.e. 1 crore 80 lakh doses. Therefore, to ensure the availability of the vaccine, the Municipal Corporation is in talks with the government and the vaccine-producing companies. Increase in the number of vaccine centers
Currently, there are 136 vaccine centers in Mumbai. Of these, there are a total of 63 centers of the state administration and the municipal corporation, the remaining 73 are centers of private hospitals. Apart from these, applications have been received from 26 more private hospitals to get recognition. With this, the number of vaccine centers of private hospitals will reach 99.
