Road closed due to landslide in Uttarkashi district due to incessant rains
In Uttarakhand (Uttarakhand), the process of heavy rain is continuing for the past several days. Landslide is happening due to rain. Due to which traffic is getting disrupted on many roads in the state. At the same time, the Gangotri Highway near Sukhi Top area is closed due to landslides in Uttarkashi district due to incessant rains. Now the Border Roads Organization is working to reopen the highway.
Simultaneously, on Monday, a car going from Brahmakhal to Barkot on the Yamunotri National Highway in Uttarkashi at around 10 am, was damaged by a boulder that fell due to a landslide. However, the life of the driver and another person sitting in the car has been saved. At the same time, the Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of heavy showers and heavy rain at isolated places in five districts of the state including Nainital on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Team engaged in removing debris from major roads of the state
Due to the rains, the process of getting debris on the road is going on in the mountains. Teams are busy in clearing the debris on the major road routes of the state and making the movement smooth. Many roads have been damaged due to heavy rains in the past. Heavy landslides have occurred near Silkyara on Yamunotri National Highway in Uttarkashi due to rain on Monday morning. The highway remained closed at this place for three hours from 12 noon. At the same time, the Gangotri National Highway was closed for about five hours from 12.45 pm near Sukki due to landslide. In Tehri district, 11 rural roads have been closed due to the rains.
Heavy rain in Himachal Pradesh too
A bridge collapsed on Monday following heavy rains in Rohru sub-division of Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh. An official of the State Disaster Management gave this information. State Disaster Management Director Sudesh Kumar Mokhta said that all roads leading to the bridge have been closed for vehicular movement after the forest bridge in Rohru subdivision collapsed due to heavy rains. He said that the district administration has informed the concerned Public Works Department about the incident.
