Uttarakhand: The Gauchar-Badrinath roadway in Uttarakhand was swept away after heavy rains on Monday, disrupting the pilgrimage to Badrinath. One of the main Hindu pilgrimage sites is the Badrinath shrine in the Chamoli district. It is a component of the Char Dham Yatra, a pilgrimage to the holy sites of Gangotri, Yamunotri, and Kedarnath. Images of the location show landslip debris caused by rain on the road. An official estimated that it would take two to three days to repair the stretch.
