Many districts of Uttarakhand have been receiving heavy rainfall for the past several days. The Meteorological Department has also predicted rain in Kumaon and Garhwal regions on Tuesday. The Meteorological Department has also predicted heavy rain with thunder at isolated places in Dehradun, Nainital, Champawat, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh in the next 24 hours. Amidst the fear of heavy rain, the department has issued a yellow alert. On the other hand, one or two rounds of heavy rain may occur in Dehradun and surrounding areas. Let us inform that after the rain, the water in Jakhan river has increased again late night in Ranipokhari, Rishikesh. Due to which the movement has stopped.

After the Yellow Alert, Collector Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar has instructed the officers of all departments related to disaster management to be alert. The Collector has instructed all the concerned departmental officers to keep a close watch on the situation and remain present in their respective areas. He has asked to take immediate relief action on receiving the news of the disaster. Along with this, the Deputy District Magistrates have been instructed to stay in their respective areas and get information from the regional accountants.

Collector warned of action if negligence

Along with this, the collector has also warned all the officers and employees. The Collector has also talked about taking action against the concerned departmental officers and employees if they find negligence in disaster management. At the same time, after rain since late Monday night, the Yamunotri highway was closed due to debris near Dharasu Band and Paligad. The highway has been restored after about three hours.

But due to the falling of stones along with the swamp, the movement remains risky. At the same time, Badrinath Highway is closed since late night due to debris coming in Pagalnala. NH’s JCB machines are busy opening the highway.

Trees have been swept over the bridge, movement disrupted

After the rain, the water in the Jakhan river again increased in Rishikesh’s Ranipokhari late at night. Due to which the movement on the bridge over the Jakhan river has been again disrupted. According to the experts, the water started flowing over the bridge, due to which the trees got swept away. Due to which the road has been obstructed.
