Uttarakhand: Haryana Police jawan shot in an encounter with criminals in Haridwar, three criminals arrested, 1 absconding

Last night, a jawan of Haryana Police was martyred in an encounter with criminals in Haridwar. The police of Faridabad, Haryana had reached Haridwar after chasing 4 criminals in a case of robbery. One of them opened fire, killing the Haryana policeman. Police have arrested 3 criminals in the case while one is still absconding.

Ashok Kumar, DGP of Uttarakhand Police said that Haryana’s Faridabad Police had come to Haridwar in search of the criminals of their robbery case. He searched for the criminals from his own level and arrested 4 criminals. For some reason one of them was left with a weapon and attacked with a gun.

Caught a criminal, Haridwar police will take further action

DGP Ashok Kumar further said that a Haryana Police constable died in the incident. It seems that the Haryana Police also counter-fired as we have caught this criminal after a night’s search. He has got a bullet in his hand. He is being admitted to AIIMS. He said that the Haridwar police will take further action.

Haryana Police had reached Haridwar in a robbery case

In fact, the Crime Branch team of Haryana Police had reached Haridwar in search of absconding accused in a robbery case in Faridabad. Meanwhile, the Crime Branch team had gone near Pantdeep Park in Haridwar to nab the miscreants at around 10.30 pm. During this, the miscreants opened fire, in which constable Sandeep Singh (38) of the crime branch was shot. After being shot, the police team hurriedly took him to the hospital, but the doctors there declared him brought dead.
