Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat called an emergency meeting after several incidents of fire broke out in the forests of Uttarakhand. The Chief Minister attended the meeting through video conferencing. After this, he tweeted and informed that two helicopters have been made available by the Central Government for prevention of fire incidents in the forests of the state. NDRF teams will also come to help in the state. The Union Home Minister has also assured of all possible assistance as per the need.
Earlier, CM Rawat had told that we have demanded 2 helicopters from the Center to control the fire. We hope that the fire will be overcome today with the help of helicopters. The Chief Minister said that 40 fire incidents have been reported in the state’s forests including Nainital, Almora, Tehri Garhwal and Pauri Garhwal. About 12 thousand forest employees have been employed. With this, 13 thousand fire crew stations have been built.

Four people died
During the last 24 hours, four people and 7 pets have died till Sunday afternoon due to fire in the forests at many places in Garhwal to Kumaon region. While giving information about loss of life and property due to fire, Uttarakhand Forest Minister Harak Singh Rawat has said that 62 hectare area of forest has been burnt to ashes. Along with this, Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat has called an emergency meeting keeping in mind the fire spreading rapidly in the forest.

Forest Minister Harak Singh Rawat said that ‘there is a fire at 964 places in the forests due to which 4 people and 7 animals have been killed and 2 people have been injured in the 62 hectare forest area in the last 24 hours. Climate change is a big challenge before the state government, I and the Chief Minister are monitoring. We will try to extinguish the fire with the help of helicopter ‘. Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat has informed through his official Twitter account that this time in Uttarakhand, the rainfall in winter has been less than normal and due to this, the incidence of forest fire is increasing rapidly.
NDRF teams leave
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has assured Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat that NDRF teams and helicopters have been immediately dispatched by the Central Government to control the fire and prevent loss of life and property. Shah has said in a tweet that in connection with the fire in the forests of Uttarakhand, I have spoken to the Chief Minister of the state Tirath Singh Rawat. In order to control the fire and prevent loss of life, the Central Government has immediately given instructions to make available the NDRF teams and helicopters to the Uttarakhand government.
