Along with this, they will be helped to improve their standard of living and generate employment for income for their family. At the same time, this project Uttarakhand (Uttarakhand) will last for 3 years in the lowlands of the Himalayan mountain range, where there are plenty of medicinal plants and plants useful for the production of honey.
At the same time, Ravi Annavarapu, President, FMC India, said that through the Madhushakti project, we want to bring a change in the lives of rural families and provide women with sustainable business opportunities in the agriculture sector. The success of this project will not only encourage women farmers in India to take up beekeeping as a profession, but will also address the global problem of protecting pollinating insects under intensive agriculture.
Amount to be given by Revolving Fund
Under this project, rural women from Sitarganj, Kotabagh, Almora and Ranikhet will be selected and trained in beekeeping. The honey collected by these farmers from the beehives will be procured by the Honey Bee Research and Training Center (HBRTC) of the university. Apart from this, its amount will be given by a revolving fund, which has been set up to pay the produce and farmers from the beehives. Due to which the bee keeping farmers in the country will be benefited.
Increasing the population of pollinating insects will increase biodiversity
Let us tell you that the purpose of the success of the Madhushakti project is to encourage women farmers in the country to adopt beekeeping as a profession. An increase in the population of pollinating insects in Uttarakhand will increase the rate of pollination and biodiversity, which will increase the productivity of agriculture. However, other objectives of the project include promotion of best agronomic methods, so that there is safe use of pesticides while keeping the bees safe.
At present 12,500 metric tonnes of honey is produced in the state.
During this, the Vice Chancellor of GB Pant University, Dr. A. Of. Shukla said, Beekeeping provides the most sustainable business opportunity for the women of the state, so that they can generate additional income by making minimum investment. Along with this, the biodiversity of the state will help bees to develop and balance the natural environment. This project will not only benefit the environment but also the farmers. It is worth noting that at present only 12,500 metric tonnes of honey is produced in this state. After a project like Madhushakti, there are possibilities of producing manifold more honey here.
