After this, BJP MLA Kailash Gahatodi, who won from Champawat, left his seat for CM Pushkar Dhami. Now by-election is going to be held here. Its result will be declared on June 3.

Voting for the by-election on May 31

Ever since the Champawat seat was vacated by Kailas Gahtori, there were speculations that CM Pushkar Singh Dhami could contest from here. Now the party has officially announced that CM Dhami will be contested. Congress has fielded Nirmala Gehtori against CM Pushkar Singh Dhami. After losing from Khatima seat, CM Dhami has to contest a by-election from Champawat seat to retain the chief minister’s post.
