CM Yogi Adityanath of the state unveiled the first prototype train of Kanpur and Agra Metro through online video conferencing. With this, metro will also start running in Kanpur and Agra in the month of November.
In fact, the Chief Minister of the state Yogi Adityanath, while talking on social media last week, said that by November this year, metro operation will start in Kanpur and Agra. He said that the goal is to make UP the leading state of the country and every effort is being made to achieve it.

Agra Metro will have 2 corridors
Significantly, there will be two corridors in the Agra Metro Rail Project. Which will pass through the heart of the city and will connect many major tourist destinations including Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Sikandra as well as ISBT, Raja Ki Mandi Railway Station, Medical College, Agra Cantonment Railway Station. It has a length of 14.00 km from Sikandra to Taj East Gate and has 13 stations, including 6 elevated and 7 underground. The length of the Agra Cantt to Kalindi Vihar corridor is 15.40 km, in which all 14 stations are elevated. About 20 lakh population of the city is likely to be benefited by the Agra Metro Rail Project.
8 metro stations to be built in Kanpur
During this, the construction work of two corridors in Kanpur Metro is going on fast. The priority part of Corridor-1 is expected to start from December 2021. It will be the fastest to be built and commissioned metro system in the world. In this, 22 metro stations will be built on the first corridor from IIT Kanpur to Naubasta in Phase 1 and 8 metro stations on the second corridor from Agriculture University to Barra 8.
