UP Power Crisis: All 75 districts get electricity according to roster, CM Yogi emphasizes on special plan for payment of bill dues

In view of the power crisis in the midst of severe heat in Uttar Pradesh, CM Yogi himself has now taken the front. He has directed that according to the roster power supply should be done in all the districts without any interruption.

Instructions to Energy Department to take concrete steps

CM Yogi told the officials of Team-9 that consumers should be encouraged to pay electricity bills on time. For this, it is very important for people to get the right bill on time. He said that overbilling, wrong billing as well as late receipt of bills causes problems to the consumer. In order to improve this system and to increase the billing and collection efficiency, the Energy Department will have to take concrete steps. CM Yogi said that special efforts need to be made in rural areas. He asked the officials to come up with a one-time settlement scheme for the outstanding payment of electricity bills.

The Chief Minister said that this scheme should be such that people can get exemption from interest on arrears. Along with this, the officials were told that the facility of payment of arrears should be in installment. So that the consumer does not have trouble in filling the outstanding bill. In this matter, the CM gave instructions to the officers of Team-9 to take action at the earliest. CM Yogi said that for transportation of coal from the mines to the power plant, the road route should also be used along with the rail. He told the officials that there is a special need for reforms in the energy sector. That is why an action plan should be prepared keeping in view the future needs.
