Engineers Sub Inspector in UP Police: This is the first time that so many candidates from technical background have been appointed in the police force.
Engineers in UP Police: The Uttar Pradesh government launched a massive campaign for the appointment of officers of the rank of sub-inspector and equivalent. 9,534 candidates were appointed under this campaign. The thing to note here is that out of this 1,477 candidates are engineering graduates. BTech graduates have been joining the police force in the past as well. In this way, thousands of BTech policemen are serving the force till now. Out of the recruitment of more than 9500 posts, 9,027 candidates will be appointed as Sub-Inspector in Civil Police. Apart from this, 484 will be appointed as Platoon Commanders in PAC and 23 as Fire Sub-Station Officers in Fire Department.
According to the report of TOI, this is the first time that so many candidates from technical background have been appointed in the police force. The thing to note here is that 125 candidates are BCA degree holders, while 43 candidates have done BBA. At the same time, the number of Science graduates is 5,185. Extending best wishes to the candidates, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said, “The selected youth will make a significant contribution in maintaining peace and strengthening law and order in the state.” This biggest recruitment drive is a living example of the efficiency of the police department.
UP will also get 1,805 women sub-inspectors
Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Awanish Awasthi said, ‘Under CM Yogi Adityanath’s 100-day campaign to provide employment to youth in the police department, the target of recruitment to 10,000 posts has been completed before the stipulated time.’ He said that the state would also get 1,805 women sub-inspectors, which would be a historic achievement in the matter of women empowerment as well as women’s safety and interests. “500 candidates have been recruited on compassionate grounds,” he said.
Sub-Inspector recruitment for the first time in more than 9000 posts
Uttar Pradesh Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) Director General RK Vishwakarma said that earlier, 1000 to 1500 posts of sub-inspector were recruited. But this is the first time that 9,534 posts have been recruited in one go. He said, 12.5 lakh candidates had participated in the online exam from November 12 to December 2, 2021. The result was announced in April and then document verification was done in May.
He said, ‘For the first time, we are getting such sub-inspectors who are qualified in the technical field and their age is also less. Of those who have been recruited, 60 per cent are people who are between 21 and 25 years of age.
