In Yogi Sarkar 2.0, the Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya has been cut off. The Public Works Department has been replaced with six departments, which include Rural Development, Rural Engineering, Food Processing, Entertainment Tax, Public Enterprises and National Integration. However, he has been given full charge of health, family welfare and medical education. In the previous Yogi government, there were two ministers handling health and medical education separately. The 34 departments that Yogi has kept with him include Home, Recruitment, Personnel, Information, Housing and Town Planning, Administrative Reforms and Planning. When he took over as CM in 2017, Yogi had 36 departments. In subsequent reshuffles, this number was reduced. Among other senior ministers, Suresh Khanna has retained finance and parliamentary affairs, while SP Shahi has retained agriculture and agricultural education and research. BJP’s state president and now cabinet minister Swatantra Dev Singh has been given seven departments including Jal Shakti and Namami Gange. He has the most departments after the CM.
