UP Govt to Launch India’s First Agri‑Export Facility Near Noida International Airport
On July 4, 2025, in Lucknow, Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh announced at the Uttar Pradesh Mango Festival 2025 that the government of Uttar Pradesh will build a full-fledged agri-export center near the new Noida International Airport in Jewar. This is part of a plan to increase agricultural exports.
One-Stop Shop for Exporting Livestock Around the World
This is India’s first center of its kind. It will offer all the services needed for sale, such as international-grade treatment, testing, and packaging. This will cut down on logistics time and make products last longer. Because it is close to Jewar Airport, goods can be sent quickly to foreign markets.
Mango production and the chance to export
Uttar Pradesh grows the most mangoes in India. Its farms cover 3.25 lakh hectares and make more than 6.15 million metric tons of mangoes every year. The state wants to sell more goods in more than 20 countries by improving its facilities. Mangoes have already been sent to London and Dubai in recent weeks.
Getting along with global rules
Different countries have their own rules about how to keep plants safe. For instance, exports to the US need to be treated with gamma radiation, while exports to Japan need to be treated with hot water vapor. India doesn’t have a single place that offers all of these treatments right now, but this center will fill that need.
Help with money and planning
The government and the World Bank are working together to pay for the project. Early figures show that it will cost around ₹350 crore. In June, airport managers, officials from the World Bank, Bharat Biotech’s Innova Food Park, and AISATS all met as stakeholders.
It has a cold chain and radiation units.
There will be a gamma radiation treatment unit built in Sector 22E, which is close to the airport. AISATS will be in charge of the management of the cold chain, which will keep the food that is shipped fresh and safe throughout the whole supply chain.
Giving Farmers Power
Chief Secretary Singh made it clear that the goal is to increase farmers’ wages by giving them better access to world markets with high value. 75% of UP’s land is used for farming, and 86% of that land is watered. This means that the state is ready to support large-scale exports.
