This could be a huge political change from the mandate of March 10. If the leaders of that class, who make all kinds of claims about Dalits and Backward, are accepted by the public despite defection and coalition manipulations, then ‘bargaining’ can increase in their name in the political market.
Will the politics of UP be dominated by the downtrodden this time?
“I will be the mirror of my every words
How will I grow up by calling him small?
you were trying to drop you didn’t even think
If I fall, I will stand as an issue.”
Bareilly’s famous poet Professor Wasim Barelvi (Wasim BarelviThis lion of ) urges that the election of UP (UP Assembly ElectionsThis time the talk of backward, deprived, exploited, poor and farmers in politics is echoing from every direction, it is not for that class but for its own political existence. That is, those who are claiming to sacrifice their interests in the name of Dalits and backwards, they are going to new parties by taking the help of Dalits to secure their future.
Every word spoken by those leaders will act as a mirror in the election results. The election picture seen in that political mirror is clear from some special things. From the camp of the Samajwadi Party and the Bharatiya Janata Party, those people are constantly raising the talk of the interests of the Dalits and Backwards, who are leaving their places and making a ‘safe’ entry in other parties. On January 14, Swami Prasad Maurya says- ‘There is no respect for backwards in BJP, so I have left the party and have come with Akhilesh.’ By evening, Samajwadi Party’s MLC Ghanshyam Lodhi from Bareilly left the party saying that there is no place for the backward, downtrodden and downtrodden in the Samajwadi Party.
On January 15, Chandrashekhar Ravana, the president of Bhim Army, freed Akhilesh from his hands. They also parted ways by saying that in the Samajwadi Party only people of a particular community get respect in the name of backwards. At the same time, Mayawati also cut the cake on her birthday and made it clear that the BSP is the party of the Dalits, the downtrodden, the exploited and the poor. Now understand the supremacy of all these political satraps, who for the first time are decisively on the test of the underprivileged.
The fight for political existence for Swami Prasad
Swami Prasad Maurya, a five-time MLA from Padrauna seat of Kushinagar, claims that he will die in the 2022 elections by completely eliminating the OBC vote bank from the BJP’s account. But, the question here is that Mayawati’s BSP became the second number party with 22.23 percent vote bank. In the 2017 elections, Mayawati had suffered a loss of 3.68 per cent vote share. Swami Prasad Maurya had left the party in 2016. A year after her separation from the BSP, the assembly elections were held and in that too Mayawati’s BSP managed to retain its vote bank and its influence on the Dalits and Backward by becoming the second number party. Even then Swami Prasad Maurya had said that there is no hearing of Dalits and Backward in BSP. Swami Prasad Maurya is once again making the same claim that with whomever he is, victory belongs to him.
While in 2012 he was with Mayawati, but the power came from the Samajwadi Party. However, for Swami Prasad Maurya, the election of 2022 has become a fight for his own political existence rather than for the Dalits, the backward and the downtrodden. Because, he has broken ties with BSP and BJP. Now we have come with Samajwadi Party. For a year after leaving the BSP, he had reportedly been nurturing the backward vote bank for the BJP, but this time he has little time to repeat his alleged charisma. In fact, the OBC vote bank that Swami Prasad Maurya is claiming to divert towards the Samajwadi Party is nothing short of impossible. Because, the class of OBCs whose displeasure is with Akhilesh’s party, those people will ride on a bicycle just seeing the face of Swami Prasad Maurya, its chances are not looking easy at all. Therefore, in this election, if Swami Prasad Maurya can do what he is saying, then his political stature will be on the ground, otherwise it will be very difficult for him to find a political floor after the results.
What will be the political future of Dara Singh Chauhan?
Dara Singh Chauhan, who separated from Mayawati by becoming the face of backward class for BJP in Purvanchal, has now got rid of BJP too. Dara Singh, a resident of Azamgarh, is the Nonia Chauhan fraternity, the vote bank that politics in Mau district. Dara Singh Chauhan has been representing Nonia Chauhan, a very backward caste that comes under the OBC category. The BJP had made him the national president of the Backward Kalyan Morcha. Dara, who worked for the most backward by joining Kanshi Ram, was sent to the Rajya Sabha for the first time in 1996 by the BSP. For the second time in the year 2000, he reached Rajya Sabha from BSP. But, in 2004 he joined the Samajwadi Party. Ghosi contested from Lok Sabha on SP ticket and lost. Then returned to BSP.
This time in 2009, Ghosi fought from the Lok Sabha on a BSP ticket and reached Parliament. In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the BSP again gave him a ticket from Ghosi, but lost in the Modi wave. Therefore, Dara, who was fighting for political existence, left the BSP and joined the BJP in 2015. BJP contested the assembly from Madhuban seat of Mau and after winning he became a cabinet minister. Basically he is from the area of Bihar Governor Fagu Chauhan and it is said that he brought him into active politics. The first loyalty of Dara Singh Chauhan was seen with the BSP. Then he went to Samajwadi Party, then to BSP, BJP and now he has joined Samajwadi Party for the second time.
Dara Singh Chauhan will once again have to enter the electoral fray to prove his political stature in the Samajwadi Party. Because, only then will he be able to prove that the very backward community, which he leads, is not associated with any party but in his own name. If this does not happen, then after the election results, the further political battle for Dara will become difficult. Because, Nonia Chauhan will get a new leader, but Dara Singh Chauhan may be weak in his own political arena. Therefore, he will have to prove that his acceptance among those who have left the BJP in the name of ignoring the Dalits and Backward is the same as before. However, all this will not be so easy.
What is the real reason for the overturning of Chandrashekhar Ravana?
Chandrashekhar Ravana’s Azad Samaj Party, who started his political journey with Bhim Army chief and Dalit-Backward politics, is trying his luck in the UP assembly elections for the first time. After the formation of ASP on 14 April 2020, the party contested the by-election from Bulandshahr in the same year. ASP got the third position here. Party’s candidate Haji Yameen got more than 13 thousand votes. After that also tried his hand in Bihar elections. But, deciding the distance between coming from number three to number one is a big challenge for Chandrashekhar Ravana. He was seen sparring with Akhilesh while spewing fire against the BJP. But, just before the election, now he has started showing eyes to Akhilesh.
At the time when many leaders of Dalit and Backward Classes started riding bicycles, at the same time Chandrashekhar gave up the cycle. They are also giving the same reason for separating from the Samajwadi Party, which the leaders are saying on separating from the BJP. That is, the question here is that even though Chandrashekhar Ravana is claiming to have a barricade against the BJP, many leaders of the same class of vote bank he does politics have left the BJP and joined Akhilesh. So will Chandrashekhar Ravana play the role of ‘Vibhishan’ to stop the Dalit-Backward vote bank from turning to Akhilesh in a direct fight between the Samajwadi Party and the BJP?
In fact, for Chandrashekhar Ravana too, the election results this time will decide how much he weighs in political bargaining. Because, politically where he stands at the moment, he fits more in the role of defeating someone or spoiling the game than winning someone. In such a situation, Mayawati’s stronghold i.e. Saharanpur will ensure that how much impact Chandrashekhar Ravana has on the vote bank of Dalits and Backward? Even if he can spoil the game of BJP, Samajwadi Party or BSP, then he will not be able to get political benefit directly from any party. Yes, it is sure that if there is a deal inside, then those BJP or BSP can prove to be helpful in giving quick benefits to anyone. Overall, the results of 2022 will determine the future of Chandrashekhar Ravan and Azad Samaj Party in the politics of UP. If they are the real and powerful voice of Dalits and Backward, then converting that voice into vote bank and won seats will be the biggest challenge.
Will ‘bargain’ in the name of Dalits and Backwards increase or end?
A very big political change can happen from the mandate of 10 March that the election results will give a new direction regarding Dalits and Backward. If the leaders of that class, who make all kinds of claims about Dalits and Backward, are accepted by the public despite defection and coalition manipulations, then ‘bargaining’ can increase in their name in the political market. If the public rejects such leaders, who may be in any party, but after being in power, leave the party for some reason and play the game of becoming a rapporteur of backward and Dalit interest, then such a line will be seen in the political future of UP. Can drag, where no leader will be able to sell Dalits and Backward by making them an election toy.
