The decision not to give ticket to any family member was not an easy task for Akhilesh. But to achieve the big goal, the thinking has to be made big. So Akhilesh took all these decisions against the family. Surely Akhilesh Yadav is giving a message to fight this election outside Mulayam’s shadow.
Akhilesh Yadav is trying to do new politics this time.
Mulayam Singh Yadav (Mulayam Singh Yadav) younger daughter-in-law of Aparna Bisht Yadav (Aparna Yadav) What did he join the BJP, Akhilesh Yadav, the national president of Samajwadi Party and the only political heir of Mulayam Singh Yadav (Akhilesh Yadav) But all kinds of allegations have started making headlines in the media. Some are saying that the family fight has come outside the threshold of the house, while some are writing – Akhilesh Yadav has become a victim of the political ambition of ‘Eko-Aham’. By sharing the election platform with non-Yadav OBC leaders like Ram Achal Rajbhar, Om Prakash Rajbhar, Sanjay Chauhan, Swami Prasad Maurya, Akhilesh is trying to send the message that Samajwadi Party is not just a party of Yadavs and Muslims.
To avoid political charges of dynasty, Akhilesh neither gave tickets to the family members nor involved them in electoral activities. Who can forget the 2014 Lok Sabha elections when Mulayam Singh Yadav was elected MP from Mainpuri and Azamgarh, Ram Gopal’s son from Firozabad, Dharmendra Yadav from Badaun and Dimple from Kannauj. When Mulayam later vacated the Mainpuri seat, Tej Pratap Singh Yadav, grandson of his late brother Ratan Singh Yadav, was elected MP. But from the 2022 elections, the entire SP clan is missing from the electoral screen.
Will familism be reduced to the pages of the past?
For the Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022, whether it is the issue of selection of candidates in the SP, whether it is a matter of campaigning in the elections or whether it is the decision to form an electoral alliance with other regional parties, Akhilesh Yadav is seen in the main role in all. The Samajwadi Party has been accused for a long time that it is a party of one family (Mulayam Singh Yadav family) and this is also true.
In the 2022 elections, Akhilesh Yadav is leaving no stone unturned in eradicating the stain of familyism on the SP. Due to old age and being ill, the party’s founding president and former chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav does not attend any meetings or rallies of the party. The presence of uncle Ram Gopal Yadav, who was present in every meeting, in every rally to help the nephew, is also not visible anywhere in this election. Akhilesh’s pictures with uncle Shivpal have been limited to his meeting with Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party regarding alliance. The absence of wife Dimple Yadav, who is also a SP MP, is surprising everyone.
It would not be wrong to say that ‘Familyism in SP’ will now be reduced to the pages of the past.
Aparna Yadav had to go to BJP
Many political pundits and opponents of SP are not deterred from saying that Akhilesh Yadav has become a victim of Eko Aham’s political ambitions and that culminated in Aparna Yadav joining BJP. But the matter is different here. If you remember, the way there was discord in the family during the last days of the Akhilesh government’s tenure and its effect was visible in the 2017 election results also, a similar vicious circle has been created even before the 2022 elections. But the people who were playing their tricks behind the scenes might have forgotten that this is the Akhilesh Yadav of 2022 and not the babua of 2017.
There was an agreement about 16-17 years ago to keep the Mulayam family together. This was about the status of Sadhna Yadav, the second wife of Mulayam Singh Yadav. Then a fierce battle broke out between Mulayam and Akhilesh. Amar Singh then took the responsibility of ending the differences between father and son. Amar Singh not only gave entry to Sadhna Yadav in the family, but also celebrated Akhilesh Yadav under an agreement. According to the agreement, Akhilesh Yadav was made the sole heir to Mulayam’s political legacy.
Sadhna Yadav’s son Prateek Yadav may have been saying that he will never enter politics, but his wife Aparna’s political ambitions have always been boiling. Akhilesh linked Aparna’s stubbornness to the terms of the same agreement. Despite this, Mulayam Singh Yadav got Aparna a party ticket in 2017. Aparna lost the election, whose blame was also put on Akhilesh that he did not want Aparna to win the election.
Well the night is gone. But Aparna did not give up and started praising CM Yogi and PM Modi. Even met CM Yogi. Where Akhilesh had called those who raised funds for the construction of Ram temple, Aparna donated 11 lakh rupees for the Ram temple. With all these actions of Aparna, Akhilesh played such a trick that whether Aparna, what Dimple and Dharmendra Yadav all came in that JD, in which it was decided that no member of the family will get ticket in this election. For Aparna, desperate to make a career in politics, this decision was like erasing her very existence. Then the same thing happened which was predicted earlier. Aparna Yadav joined BJP.
Also abstained from the politics of Muslim appeasement
In the long political period, Mulayam Singh Yadav, who was synonymous with the Samajwadi Party, did not miss to call even the Bharatiya Janata Party Maulana Mulayam. There has always been an allegation that SP does politics of Muslim appeasement, giving maximum tickets to Muslims. But when the command came completely in the hands of Akhilesh Yadav, he tried his best to eradicate such a concept. Whatever game Akhilesh has played behind the scenes, but people are seeing that the SP-RLD alliance has played a big bet against the BJP by not fielding a Muslim candidate in any of the 6 seats in Muzaffarnagar district.
Liaquat Ali, who lost the Meerapur assembly seat in Muzaffarnagar district last time by a very small margin, did not get a ticket. Not only this, Qadir Rana, who left the BSP and joined the SP, has also not been made a candidate for any seat. Imran Masood, who left Congress and joined SP, is also saddened by not getting a ticket. SP leader Azam Khan is in jail and Akhilesh did not show any interest in getting him out. Despite this, no other party is as confident about the Muslim vote as Akhilesh Yadav. Not even Asaduddin Owaisi and Mayawati of BSP. Means to say that Akhilesh Yadav is taking decisions as a mature politician out of the image of Babua.
It is said that the person who beats himself in the business of politics, his skin, that is, his skin becomes thick, and even measuring the speed of his mind is like measuring the speed of the world. Those who used to take Akhilesh Yadav as babua to run the politics of UP on their own terms, the same people have started mourning the widow on his political maturity. It is not only about Aparna Yadav joining BJP, whether it is a decision not to give ticket to anyone by giving good-bye to the politics of family or whether it is a strategy to distance itself from the politics of Muslim appeasement in the candidate selection, all these decisions have been taken by Akhilesh. Not taken suddenly and all these decisions have big political implications. If said, Akhilesh’s politics has gone beyond the politics of familyism, dynasty and Muslim appeasement. In the real sense, Akhilesh Yadav has moved towards pure socialist politics.
