All higher educational institutions, universities of UP have been closed for the time being.
In view of the ever increasing corona cases in UP, a major decision has been taken by the government. All the higher educational institutions and universities of the state have been closed at present (Higher Educational Institutes Closed Till 15 May). These steps have been taken due to increasing infection. According to the decision of the government, the university, degree colleges will remain closed till May 15. Not only this, online classes have also been postponed till May 15.
Such a decision has been taken by the UP administration because of the speed of the Corona infection (Decision For Stop Corona Case). Cases of infection are increasing rapidly. In the last twenty four hours, 25,858 new cases were reported. At the same time, 352 patients lost their lives. Due to the uncontrollable pace, it has been decided to close higher educational institutions at present.
Currently 13,68,183 cases of Corona
There are currently 13,68,183 cases of corona in UP. So far 13,798 people have died due to this epidemic. There are currently 2,72,568 active cases in the state. Now the lockdown has been extended for two days in view of the increasing cases of corona infection. Now this lockdown will also be applicable on the coming Thursday and Friday i.e. 6th and 7th May. Already the weekend lockdown in UP was extended to three days Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
However, this lockdown will now be applicable till 7 am on Monday, May 10. Only the old rules will remain applicable in this lockdown. Shops related to essential items will remain open. Challans of people found on the road without e-pass will be deducted and action will also be taken under the epidemic act.
Higher educational institutions closed till 15 May
Earlier on Monday, the weekend lockdown was extended for two more days till Thursday. In this case, the lockdown will continue in UP from May 1 to May 10. Apart from UP, the national capital has a lockdown since April 19 and it will continue till May 10. Lockdown or partial restrictions have been implemented in almost all states of the country including Haryana, Bihar, Rajasthan, Odisha, Karnataka, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. Now higher educational institutions in UP have also been closed till May 15.
