Navy Udayagiri ship
The Indian Navy has made another increase in its strength on 1 July. Under this, the second stealth of Project 17A prepared in Majhgaon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDSL) has been handed over to the Udayagiri Navy. This ship is an advanced version of Shivalik Class (Project 17). Which is already increasing the pride of the Navy. Seven frigates are being built under Project 17A, out of which four MDSL and three gardens are being prepared in Kolkata by Reach Shipbuilders (GRSE).
The name Udayagiri is derived from the old INS Udayagiri, which retired in August 2007 after serving for 31 years. The new Udayagiri is equipped with modern technology and weapons. It has been designed to protect India's maritime interests in the open sea. Its biggest feature is its stealth technology, which helps to protect it from the enemy's radar and makes it fatal.
Technical features and deadly advanced version
Project 17A ships are better in many ways than old P17 class. Integrated construction technology has been used in them, making the ship prepared in a short time. Udayagiri has been delivered in just 37 months of launching. Which is a big record in itself. Its structure is 4.5% larger than P17 class. It is equipped with advanced weapons such as supersonic missile, medium range air defense system, 76mm guns and close-in weapons. The combination of its diesel engine and gas turbine makes it faster and powerful.
Self -reliant India's pride
Udayagiri completely reflects the vision of self -sufficient India. More than 200 Indian MSMEs have contributed to making it. About 4,000 people have got direct and 10,000 people have got indirect employment from this project. This has not only increased employment opportunities, but has also strengthened the ship's ship design and engineering capacity. The remaining five frigates of Project 17A are also getting ready fast. These ships will be handed over to the Indian Navy by 2026. With their involvement, the strength of the Navy and new heights will get new heights. Udayagiri is a great example of the Indian Navy and indigenous technology. This will not only strengthen the defense of the country, but will also show India's self -sufficiency on the stage of the world.
