On the other hand, after the victory in Tripura, BJP workers celebrated a lot in front of BJP’s state headquarters at Murlidhar Sen Lane and fed each other sweets along with blowing gulal. On this occasion, Bengal BJP Vice President Vishwapriya Roy Chowdhury expressed happiness.
On the election results, the BJP has said that the results of the civic polls have exposed the “hollowness” of the Trinamool Congress which is claiming that it has made inroads in the northeastern state. Trinamool Congress’s West Bengal general secretary and spokesperson Kunal Ghosh claimed that his party, which arrived in Tripura only two months ago, has managed to finish second in several seats. He said this was the situation when “there was violence by the ruling BJP”.
TMC accuses BJP of violence
Amidst the results of various municipal bodies of Tripura, Dilip Ghosh tweeted, “2023 is ours. These (results) will form the basis of Trinamool Congress’s victory in the year 2023.” He claimed that the Trinamool Congress has been successful in getting the support of various sections. Accusing the BJP of setting up a municipal board by registering victory with the help of violence and provocation, the TMC leader claimed that the police and the Tripura State Election Commission were also favoring the saffron party. He thanked the party workers for their efforts and the support of the people of Tripura.
BJP took a dig at TMC
Earlier in the day, BJP national vice-president Dilip Ghosh told reporters that the saffron party shares a “deep bond” with the residents of the state. He claimed that the Trinamool Congress will be able to open an account in Tripura only if the BJP decides not to field a candidate from any seat. The BJP leader said, “The results of the civic polls are as per the expectations. There is no possibility of Trinamool Congress opening account in Tripura and it is only making noise.
