Addressing the media, Delhi Minister Gopal Rai said that the Delhi government has put forward 12 proposals to the Center to control pollution. He told that the air quality in the capital is being monitored continuously. According to last year’s monitoring, the pollution level in Delhi starts increasing as soon as stubble burning starts in Punjab and Haryana. Gopal Rai said that the Delhi government has appealed to all the state governments and the Center to spray bio-decomposer on a large scale. He told that about Rs 1000 per acre is being spent in this.

‘Spraying through bio decomposer’

At the same time, Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar has also supported spraying through bio-decomposer. In the meeting, he told that one thousand rupees incentive is being given to those who do not burn stubble in the state. At the same time, the government is also giving money to buy the machine. But CM Khattar also believes that if the solution is prepared and sprayed in the fields with the released amount, then pollution can be got rid of.

Gopal Rai says that CNG is being used in public transport to make Delhi pollution free. He has appealed to the Union Minister that public transport in the entire NCR should be run from CNG only. This will help in reducing pollution.

‘Plots causing pollution should be closed in NCR’

The cabinet minister of Delhi said that the industrial units of the capital have also been converted to PNG. The Delhi government proposes that only PNG should be used in the states of NCR. At the same time, a proposal has been made in front of the central government to close the thermal plants in the states around Delhi. They say that the polluting plots have been closed in Delhi.

Gopal Rai told that in the meeting he has also talked about brick kilns. He said that last year generator sets were running in many colonies in Haryana. He has appealed to the Center to ban that too. Delhi minister said that crackers are banned in Delhi. But due to bursting of crackers in other states, pollution starts increasing in the capital also. That is why firecrackers should be banned in other states also.

‘Task force formed in the areas adjacent to the capital’

The Delhi government has demanded the state governments to constitute a task force for the areas adjacent to the capital. He said that the way Delhi has decided hot spots, similarly hot spots should be decided in neighboring states too. Gopal Rai said that like the Red Light on Car Off campaign run in Delhi last year, it should be started in neighboring states also. The Delhi government has demanded from the Center that the neighboring state governments should also implement the Electric Vehicle Policy and Tree Transport Policy.
