The Center has also started vaccination of the third phase from May 1, accelerating the vaccination drive amid increasing cases of corona in the country. In the third phase, people between 18 and 44 years are to be vaccinated. Whereas more than 46 lakh doses of vaccine will be delivered in the coming three days.

There was a shortage of vaccine in many states
It is known that many states like Punjab, Delhi, Maharashtra before the introduction of Third Stage of Vaccination had said that sufficient quantity of vaccine dose is not available in the state. Due to non-availability of vaccines, this phase was started in few states including Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat and Jammu and Kashmir on the first day.

At the same time, cases of corona are also increasing in speed across the country. The Union Health Ministry on Saturday informed that 2,86,800 people in the age group of 18-44 years have been given the first dose of Kovid-19 vaccine in 30 states and union territories of the country. At the same time, in the last 24 hours, 4,03,738 new cases of corona have been reported while 4092 people have died. Apart from this, 3,86,444 people have been discharged in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of cases in the country is now 2,22,96,414 while the number of active cases has gone up to 37,36,648. Apart from this, 2,42,362 people have lost their lives so far and 1,83,17,404 people have recovered properly.
