400 people arrested in UP so far
In fact, violence erupted in many states including Uttar Pradesh after Friday prayers in Kanpur on June 3 and June 10 in protest against the derogatory remarks made against Prophet Muhammad during a debate on a news channel of the then BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma. Violent incidents took place in Prayagraj, Saharanpur, Aligarh, Hathras, Firozabad and some other districts of Uttar Pradesh. More than 400 people have been arrested in this case.
