China litchi captured in Bihar through northeastern states
The travel story of China variety of litchi coming to India has been shared by Dr. Sheshdhar Pandey, Director, National Research Center on Litchi, Muzaffarpur, Bihar, from NewsNCR Digital. According to Sheshdhar Pandey, the Chinese breed of litchi arrived in India from China around 1770. Initially, litchi of this breed was grown in the northeast like Tripura, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland. After that this breed of sugar reached Bihar via Assam, Bengal. Dr. Sheshdhar Pandey explains that the soil of Bihar is most suitable for litchi gardening. In such a situation, China Litchi liked Bihar very much and its horticulture area increased on a large scale around Muzaffarpur. Today it is rocking the whole country due to its specialty.
This is the specialty of China Litchi
Talking about the characteristics of China variety of litchi, it is also not inferior to royal litchi in color and taste. Overall, the Chinese breed is superior to the royal litchi in beauty. At the same time, the pulp is also more than Shahi, while its kernels are smaller. Despite the same hot winds and no moisture, its fruit does not burst on the tree like royal litchi. Its color is also more red than Shahi Litchi. Which attracts people more because of its beauty.
China litchi ready after being cooked, now it will be captured in the markets
If we talk about the possession of China Litchi in the markets, then there is a math behind it. In fact, by the month of June, the harvesting of royal litchi ends. For example, Shahi Litchi disappears from the market by the first week of June. So the harvesting of China Litchi starts in June. After this it has been coming in the markets till July. In such a situation, in the coming months, only China litchi is occupied in the markets. Bachcha Prasad Singh, president of Bihar Litchi Growers Association, says that now the royal litchi is over.
