In fact, on Sunday evening, the north-west Bay of Bengal and adjoining Odisha coast (Odisha Coast) But a pressure had formed, which intensified and crossed the Odisha coast as a ‘deep depression’ near Chandbali between 5.30 am to 6.30 am on Monday.
Deep Depression is a rapid low pressure system with wind speed 55 to 61 kmph. At the same time, another low pressure area remains over South-West Rajasthan and adjoining Gujarat region. The Monsoon Trough is lying to the south of its normal position. It is very likely to move south from normal position during next 3-4 days. With the depression and its west-northwestward motion, the low level westerly winds are very likely to strengthen along the west coast during the next 4-5 days.
Rain likely at isolated places
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of widespread rainfall in North Konkan, North Madhya Maharashtra, Gujarat, East Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh and Odisha during the next five days. On the other hand, there is a possibility of rain (more than 20 cm) at different places in Odisha, North Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh today.
Rain in Uttarakhand during 12-16 September
Heavy rain is likely to continue over peninsular India during the next five days. At the same time, there is a possibility of heavy rains in Coastal and South Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and Kerala during the next three days. During the next five days, isolated rain activity is very likely over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. There is a possibility of widespread and isolated heavy rains in Uttarakhand during 12-16 September.
