Oil prices stable for 27th consecutive day

Petrol Diesel Price Today: There has been a big fall in the prices of crude oil in the international market. On Wednesday, the price of Brent crude fell by 3.91 percent to $ 70.57 per barrel. However, the prices of WTI Crude have increased. WTI crude prices rose 1.44 per cent to $67.13 per barrel. Due to the fall in the price of crude oil, the prices of petrol and diesel in the country may come down.

Oil companies have released the rates of petrol and diesel for Wednesday. The country’s major oil companies IOC, BPCL and HPCL have not made any change in fuel prices today. This is the 27th consecutive day, when there has been no change in the prices of petrol and diesel.

Petrol and diesel prices in four major cities

On December 1, the price of petrol in the capital Delhi is Rs 103.97 per liter and the price of diesel is Rs 86.67. But in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, adjacent to Delhi, the price of one liter of petrol is Rs 95.29 and the price of diesel is Rs 86.80 per liter. Apart from Ghaziabad, the prices of petrol and diesel are also lower in Gurugram, which is in NCR, than Delhi. Petrol in Gurugram is Rs 95.90 per liter and diesel Rs 87.11 per liter.

Today in Mumbai the price of petrol is Rs 109.98 per liter and diesel is Rs 94.14 per liter. In Chennai, the price of one liter of petrol is Rs 101.40 and the price of one liter of diesel is Rs 91.43. In Kolkata today petrol is being sold at the rate of Rs 104.67 per liter and diesel at Rs 89.79 per liter.

Government earns so much daily from petrol and diesel

The Central Government (Government of India) has collected Rs 3.72 lakh crore from excise duty collection in the financial year 2020-21. If put in simple words, more than Rs 1000 crore has been earned. At the same time, a year ago it was about Rs 488 crore per day.

Per liter of petrol, Rs 1.40 is charged as basic excise duty, Rs 11 as additional excise duty, Rs 13 (road and infrastructure cess), and Rs 2.5 as agriculture and development infrastructure cess. Its full sum is Rs 27.90. Whereas for diesel Rs 1.80 as basic excise duty, Rs 8 special excise duty, Rs 8 (road and infrastructure cess), Rs 4 as agriculture and development infrastructure cess. That is, a total of Rs 21.80.
