The interim government that was formed before independence, in which the charge of the finance department was with Liaquat Ali of the Muslim League. Liaquat Ali Khan was sworn in as the first Prime Minister of Pakistan on 15 August 1947 but was assassinated on 16 October 1951 in Rawalpindi. Liaquat Ali Khan was the Prime Minister of Pakistan for four years, two months and two days. In the year 1950, he signed an agreement between India and Pakistan on 8 April 1950, whose special purpose was to secure the rights of minorities in both countries and to eliminate the possibility of war in future.
