Recognizing the importance of digitization in agriculture, the department is creating an institutional farmers database and developing various services around this database to create a digital ecosystem for agriculture.
Database of farmers being prepared
The institutional database of farmers will be linked with the land records of farmers across the country, as well as a unique Farmer ID will be generated. Under this integrated database, information related to all the benefits and support of various schemes of the central and state government will be kept for all the farmers and it can become a source of information for the purpose of benefiting the farmers in future. As of now, the database is ready with the details of about 5.5 crore farmers.
