How will the mango reach the people in the Corona crisis, Mango Growers Association asked for help from the government, mango is ready in Andhra Pradesh, but the arrival in the mandis is less.
The Corona crisis increased the concern of mango growers.
Corona infection has increased the concern of mango growers. This time the yield is likely to be good, but if the situation is bad then how will it be sold, who will eat it? How will it be exported? The producers are troubled by these questions. Last year i.e. in 2020 too, due to Corona Crisis, mango growers had suffered a lot. There was a decrease in exports. This year, similar circumstances are being seen.
President of the Mango Growers Association of India, Insram Ali said that it would be a difficult time for mango growers if the corona infection did not decrease and lockdown was imposed. Last year, there was a lot of damage due to Corona. The mango was not sold. There was hope of some compensation this year but the corona infection has eradicated it. Mango is the national fruit of India.
Association sought cooperation from the government
Then what kind of help is needed from the government? In response to this question, Ali said, “Transport of mangoes should not be stopped. Mandis should also be opened in the evening with the Corona Protocol. Traders who come from outside to buy mangoes should not be stopped. They should be allowed to follow social distancing. At present, the varieties of mangoes from Andhra Pradesh are Neelam, Bangpali (Safeda) and Totapari. But their arrival is much less because of the corona. So the government should give us some support. “
Ali said that mangoes of UP will also come by next month. Here the lame, Chausa, Amrapali, Dushari and Bombay Green are the main species. Mango is the One District One Product (ODOP) of Amroha, Lucknow, Mau, Sitapur and Unnao. Apart from this, Barabanki, Varanasi, Sultanpur, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Meerut and Bijnor are the major producing districts here.
