Election in Kerala (Kerala) is near, all political parties are trying their best to ensure their victory. This time the battle in Kerala seems to be triangular, on one side where there is seventy LDF and on the other hand the Congress-enabled UDF and on the third, BJP is also becoming a big power in Kerala. Which will give a tough competition to UDF and LDF this time. However, the most trouble is going to happen in Kerala this time to the incumbent Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and his party CPI (M). The biggest reason for this is the 9 percent fishermen population of Kerala, which has an impact on 45 to 50 assembly seats there.
In fact, the fishermen community of Kerala is very upset with the Pinarayi Vijayan government. The fishermen community is upset because the Pinarayi Vijayan government has a 2950 crore deal with an American fishing company EMCC International in which this company will develop large nets for fishing in the sea. This will cause great harm to the fishermen and he was also protesting about this.
Congress got the issue
The Congress openly opposed the decision of the Pinarayi Vijayan government. With this, he also accused of corruption in this deal. Pinarayi Vijayan understood what a big mistake he was making after seeing the fishermen’s agitation and the growing opposition of the Congress in the state, so he canceled the deal. But by then Arrow had left the command and the Congress had succeeded somewhere in strengthening its hold in this community. The result of this was that Rahul Gandhi was seen fishing among fishermen. The Congress does not want to let this community go out of its hands at any cost.
45 to 50 seats
In Kollam, Trivandrum, Alleppey, Thrissur, Ponnani and Ernakulam districts of Kerala, this community has a significant influence, with 45 to 50 seats, this community can decide the victory and defeat of any party. This community has been extending its support to the Left parties since the beginning. But ever since the Pinarai government has taken such a decision, the community has lost confidence in the Vijayan government and the Congress seems to be able to capitalize on this issue somewhere. However, Pinarayi Vijayan has always denied the issue of corruption in the deal with the fishing company.
Fishermen facing inflation
There are about 1 million fishermen in the sea areas of Kerala, whose livelihood depends on the trade of fish. Most of them are women who do the work of fish, men go to sea and catch fish, and women do the work of selling it. Alleppey city of Kerala is the hub of sea food exports, from here fish are supplied all over the world. But these people are now facing inflation. The corona epidemic was wreaked havoc on them as well, after which their business came to a standstill.
Now when some business started, the price of diesel is so high that most of the fishermen are not going fishing. These people had also demanded a special package from the Vijayan government, but no response came from the government. Even in this community, there is anger against the Left government in this community.
BJP is also getting stronger
In Kerala, the BJP is moving forward on the issue of Hindutva, with it also focusing on local issues. The BJP was also standing with them on the issue of fishermen and demanding the Vijayan government for their rights. BJP got the benefit of this in the civic elections when it won the local body election from these areas. However, who will win from here in the 2021 assembly elections, only time will tell.
