In the Delhi oil-oilseeds market, the prices of almost all oil-oilseeds fell on Wednesday amid a softening trend in foreign markets. Soybean oilseeds prices closed showing strength due to improvement in Chicago Exchange. Informed sources in the market said that the Malaysia Exchange was down about one percent, while the Chicago Exchange is currently up about 0.1 percent.
Sources said that the price of mustard seeds in Saloni Shamsabad has been reduced by about Rs 250 to Rs 8,250 a quintal, due to which the prices of other mustard oils also closed with a softness. The availability of mustard will continue to decrease till the next crop arrives.
Sources said that the arrival of soybean in mandis across the country has come down to about two lakh bags. Due to this there is an improvement in the prices of soybean grain and loose. But due to the impact of demand, soybean oil prices have come down. Cottonseed oil also declined due to the impact of demand, while groundnut oil and oilseeds prices remained at the previous level due to reduced selling at lower prices.
