In a program organized in Narmada Gujarat on the occasion of World Bee Day, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has underlined the role of rural areas to make the country a developed nation. Along with this, he has also given information about the scheme to increase the income of farmers through beekeeping.
On the occasion of World Honey Day, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has dedicated 7 honey testing laboratories and processing units to the country. These units set up in 5 states of the country were virtually inaugurated by the Agriculture Minister during a program organized in Tent City-II Ekta Nagar Narmada Gujarat. On this occasion, Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar addressed the people of various states. Government serious for sweet revolution, more than 100 laboratories will be built now
Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that the government is working very seriously to bring sweet revolution in the country under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The central government has set up world class laboratories in the country, the centrally funded scheme named National Beekeeping and Honey Mission aims to establish 5 large regional and 100 small honey and other bee products testing laboratories, out of which 3 world class state-of-the-art laboratories have been opened. Whereas, 25 approved small laboratories are being set up. He said that it is an effort that small farmers do not have to go far for honey testing.
60 thousand metric tonnes of honey is being exported from the country
Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that more than 1.25 lakh metric tonnes of honey is being produced in the country. Out of which more than 60 thousand metric tonnes of natural honey has been exported. He said that how we can cover the world market by increasing the quality of our honey, the Government of India and the state governments are making efforts in this direction. The same enthusiasm is expected from the honey producing farmers and other concerned people as well.
500 crore special package for beekeeping
Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that the government has focused on schemes like FPO and Honey Mission for beekeepers under other schemes. He said that under self-reliant India campaign for beekeeping, Rs. A special package of Rs.
