A girl taking part in Bathukamma together with different ladies was assassin by husband who was indignant over her relationship with one other man.
The stunning incident occurred at Veerapur in Sangareddy district on Sunday night time.
Bathukamma, the nine-day lengthy floral competition, started throughout Telangana on Sunday. During the competition, ladies prepare flowers and sing and dance round it.
Swapna was taking part in Bathukamma together with different ladies of the village when her husband Y. Yellareddy attacked her with an iron rod. The lady suffered head accidents and died on the spot.
Yellareddy escaped after the assault. Police registered a case and launched a hunt for the accused.
Yellareddy was livid over Swapna’s extra-marital relations with one other man Ramesh.
According to police, Yellareddy had married Swapna’s elder sister Manga just a few years in the past. However, a month after the wedding Manga dedicated suicide by setting herself ablaze. Subsequently, Gopal Reddy and Yellamma married off their second daughter Swapna to Yellareddy.
The couple led a contented married life for six years. They have a daughter and a son. However, later, they developed variations and used to quarrel ceaselessly.
Swapna had additionally developed extramarital relations with one other man from the village. As she continued the connection regardless of Yellareddy’s warnings, he hatched a plan to get rid of her.
On Sunday, when she was taking part in Bathukamma with different ladies of the village, he executed the homicide plot.
