Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin told DMK workers on Friday, “After the death of MGR, some people demolished the statue in the pursuit of political vendetta.”
Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu (M Venkaiah Naidu) Statue of late leader M. Karunanidhi, Dravidian leader and five-time Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu (Statue of M Karunanidhi) was unveiled on Saturday. During this, Karunanidhi’s son and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin (MK Stalin) were also present. The statue has been installed in the premises of Multi Super Specialty Government Hospital located in Omandurar Estate.
This statue has been erected some 100 meters away from the old statue, which was built 35 years ago by AIADMK founder M.G. It was demolished after the death of Ramachandran (MG Ramachandran). This 16 feet high bronze statue has been installed on a 14 feet high platform. After the formal unveiling, Vice President Naidu, Chief Minister Stalin and leaders offered flowers to Karunanidhi’s picture placed near the statue.

Stalin said on the occasion that Periyar (leader EV Ramaswamy) wanted to install a statue of Kalaignar (Karunanidhi’s nickname), but Periyar died. He said that after that Periyar’s wife Manimmai took the initiative in this direction and along with Dravid Kazhagam established the statue of Anna Salai. Stalin had told DMK workers on Friday, “After the death of MGR, some people demolished the statue in the pursuit of political vendetta.”

Stalin expressed happiness over the unveiling of the statue
Expressing happiness over the unveiling of the father’s statue, Chief Minister and DMK President MK Stalin on Friday invited workers to attend the unveiling ceremony. Stalin, in a letter to the workers, said, “Five-time Chief Minister Karunanidhi developed many schemes for the country. Put the state on the path of development and achieved an important place in history. Stalin said, “Out of political malice and after MGR’s death, some evil forces with the support of the police had demolished the statue.” Stalin described his father as “a great achiever, a tireless personality, a steadfast fighter of social justice and the architect of modern Tamil Nadu”. He said that father Karunanidhi can never be erased from the pages of history.
