Strong stand of Allahabad High Court! Uttar Pradesh DGP ordered not to leave Prayagraj till tomorrow, know the whole matter

The Allahabad High Court had summoned the DGP by ordering on Tuesday. After which the DGP had reached the High Court on Wednesday, where the court reprimanded him.

The Allahabad High Court has ordered Uttar Pradesh DGP Mukul Goyal not to leave Prayagraj till tomorrow. The court reprimanded the DGP in the case of the death of a girl student in Mainpuri in 2019. The DGP has been ordered to stay in Prayagraj till Thursday for not taking action against the Mainpuri police despite the court’s instructions.

The court heard the public interest litigation of Mahendra Pratap Singh on Wednesday. During this, a division bench of Acting Chief Justice MN Bhandari and Justice AK Ojha has asked the DGP to remove or forcibly retire the then SP. During this, the court also saw the video recording of the Panchnama. In the case, the court expressed strong displeasure over the attitude of the police and directed the DGP to come to the court with full preparation. Also asked not to leave Prayagraj till tomorrow.

Report sought on action against Mainpuri SP

Angry with the DGP, the High Court has asked the court to present a report on the action taken against the then Mainpuri SP on Thursday. The court has asked to return from Prayagraj only after taking action against the SP of Mainpuri by Thursday and giving the report. In fact, the High Court had summoned the DGP by ordering on Tuesday. After which the DGP reached the High Court on Wednesday.

What is the whole matter?

In 2019, the body of a girl student studying in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Mainpuri, was found hanging from a noose in a suspicious condition. The mother of the deceased student had accused him of hanging her on the noose, even after that the police neither registered a case nor took any action. The police remained negligent even after the case was registered in 2021. Even after the High Court’s order in the matter, the Mainpuri Police did not take any action.
