Army Chief General MM Naravane (General MM Naravane) Bombay Engineer Group at Pune (BEG) and inducted the Special Vehicle developed in India into the army in a ceremony held at the center. The Army Chief has indigenously launched Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) Quick Reaction Fighting Vehicle Medium (QRV), Infantry Protected Mobility Vehicle (IPMV), Ultra Long Range Observation System and Monocoque Hull Multi-Role Mine-Protected Armored Vehicle manufactured by Bharti Forge (Armored Vehicle) was inducted into the army.
According to an Army release, the Army Chief commended Tata and Bharat Forge for strengthening the Government of India’s initiative of self-reliant India and for its continued engagement with the Indian Army over the past several decades. The induction of these indigenously developed defense systems by TASL and Bharat Forge will significantly enhance the operational capabilities of the Indian Army in future wars, he added.

TASL becomes India’s first private sector company
With this achievement, it has become the first private sector company in India to manufacture and supply wheeled combat ready vehicles for the Armed Forces, a release issued by Tata Advanced Systems Limited said. In addition, TASL will provide round the clock support for vehicle maintenance at the deployment locations. IPMV is a project operated with Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO).
TASL Managing Director and CEO Sukaran Singh said that the successful delivery of IPMV is a big achievement for his company and the Indian defense manufacturing sector. At the same time, the Ministry of Defense said on Tuesday that today the second successful test of the tank destroyer Helina missile was done through a helicopter. The ministry said in a statement that the first successful test of HELINA was conducted in Pokhran (Rajasthan) on Monday. Both the tests were done through Advance Light Helicopter. “Today’s test was conducted from different perimeters and altitudes,” the statement said. The missile hit the tank replica target accurately. The HELINA is capable of hitting targets at any time of the day or night in all weather conditions and can destroy conventional armored systems and battle tanks.
