Schools are going to reopen for classes 1 to 5 in Madhya Pradesh. An official said that the Madhya Pradesh state government has decided to reopen the schools for classes 1 to 5 with 50% attendance from September 20. This decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Schools have been asked to follow the COVID-19 protocol to open primary classes. Social distancing and sanitization should be done properly. An official of the School Education Department said that if any parent does not want to send the children to school, then the administration should continue with the online classes.
School Education Minister Inder Singh Parmar said that hostels and boarding schools for classes 8, 10 and 12 will also be reopened with 100% capacity, while class 11 will be reopened with 50% capacity. All staff members of the school have been asked to get vaccinated for COVID-19. The minister said, “The decision was taken after reviewing the status of COVID-19 cases. For the last one and a half months, the positive cases have come down to 0.1%. Earlier, the School Education Department had resumed classes from class 8 to 12 from September 1. The Higher Education Department also announced the reopening of MP colleges with 50% capacity from September 15.
An official of the Madhya Pradesh Public Relations Department quoted the minister as saying, “Academic activities in all universities and colleges of the state will start from September 15 with the presence of students. There will be 100% attendance of academic and non-teaching staff in all colleges and universities. Classes will be conducted with 50 percent attendance of students.” Yadav said that it will be mandatory for the academic and non-academic staff and students of the college to submit the certificate of the first dose of anti-COVID-19 vaccine. There are about 1400 colleges and 56 universities in Madhya Pradesh, in which there are about 13.5 lakh students.
Explain that after the reduction in the positivity rate in the state, most of the restrictions have been relaxed. More than 50,000 tests are being conducted daily in MP.
