The first day of Saraswati Puja during Navratri Puja is celebrated as Saraswati Aahan. Saraswati invocation is done on Mahasaptami of Shukla Paksha of Hindu lunar month Ashwin. This year the puja ritual will be done on 11 October 2021.
Maa Saraswati is the goddess of knowledge, learning, music, speech and divine peace. She rides on a swan or a peacock and is also called Maa Sharda, Shweta Padmasan, Veena Vadini, Savitri, Brahmani and Bharadi. He has four arms, is shown holding a white lotus flower, veena, book and a garland.

Saraswati Invocation 2021: Significance
The word invocation signifies invocation, hence rituals are performed to invoke the blessings of Maa Saraswati on this day.
Mother Saraswati is the wife of Lord Brahma. Lord Brahma is the creator of the universe and the knowledge of Mother Saraswati was applied in the process of creation. Devotees worship on this day to get the divine grace of Mother Saraswati.
Jainism considered Mata Saraswati to be the source of all learning. Followers of Buddhism also worship Mata Saraswati with utmost devotion and believe that Mata Saraswati supports in the protection of the sacred teachings of Gautama Buddha. In the sacred Hindu scriptures, Nakshatras are specified for the performance of rituals.

Saraswati Invocation 2021: Worship Method
– Saraswati invocation has to be done in a certain Muhurta.
To invoke Mata Saraswati, the specified mantras have to be recited.
The feet of Mother Saraswati are washed.
A resolution or fast is taken by the devotees.
– The decoration is done. The idol is decorated with sandalwood paste and kumkum etc.
White flowers are offered.
Some devotees also keep fast.
Naivedya is offered. Mostly white colored sweets are prepared.
Mantras are recited. Bhajans are sung.
– Aarti is performed.
Prasad is distributed after the worship is over.
