Republic Day 2023: As India celebrates its 74rd Republic Day, President Droupadi Murmu led the celebrations at Kartavya Path and unfurled the national flag. The flag unfluring was followed by the National Anthem with a booming 21-gun salute.
On the eve of 74th Republic Day of India President Draupadi Murmu addressed the nation. Every year, on the eve of Republic Day, the President of the country extends greetings to the countrymen, thanking farmers, founding fathers and freedom fighters of the country.
During her an-hour-long address to the nation, President Murmu paid homage to the country’s brave soldiers. She also shed light on the importance of education and freshly implemented New Education Policy. “NEP equips students for the difficulties of the twenty-first century while also making our civilization’s lessons applicable to modern life President,” she said.
“I commend roles of farmers, workers, scientists and engineers whose combined strength enables our country to live up to the spirit of “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan, Jai Vigyan, Jai Anusandhan”. I appreciate every citizen who contributes to the nation’s progress,” she said.
In preparation for the 73rd Republic Day celebrations, Delhi has been given a high level of security cover. The city police have increased checkpoints and sealed the national capital’s borders with their counterparts from neighbouring states in order to thwart any untoward instances.
